Looking for the best summer camps in Richmond, Virginia for summer 2026? From outdoor adventure camps along the James River to STEM-focused programs and creative arts camps, families around RVA have plenty of options to keep kids engaged, active, and learning all summer long.
And to help you get ready for summer, I'm spotlighting my favorite summer camps that still have openings for summer 2026. First up is my kids' top requested camp type: sports camps.
I love Richmond Spiders Men's Basketball Camps because the campers learn basketball skills through games, they get to play where the Richmond Spiders play, and the entire camp is run through the basketball program. This means that camp counselors are the University of Richmond men's basketball players ,and the Spiders coaching staff coordinates the entire program.
