Egg-cited to celebrate Easter around RVA with your family? We are too! In honor of spring's arrival and Easter coming up, I've rounded up the best Easter events around Richmond -- including free, community Easter Egg Hunts and free pictures with the Easter Bunny. These Richmond area activities and events are perfect for the entire family!
Heads up: Some events are free, Easter events, some are paid experiences, some are drop in style, and some require advanced registration.

Free Easter Events for Kids around Richmond:
1. Bass Pro Shops' Pictures with the Easter Bunny
What: Children can meet the Easter Bunny and take free pictures with him. You'll receive a free 5x7 picture.
When: Saturday, April 1 through Sunday, April 9, reservations open March 25

2. Cabela's Pictures with the Easter Bunny
What: Children can meet the Easter Bunny and take free pictures with him. You'll receive a free 5x7 picture.
When: Saturday, April 1 through Sunday, April 9, reservations open March 25

3. Clover Hill Church's Family Night Out, Easter Edition
What: Bring the whole family for a night of fun with illusionist, Matt Adams. This is a free event but spots are limited.
When: Friday, March 31 from 6:30pm-8pm

4. Mount Vernon Baptist's Easter Story Walk and Petting Zoo
What: Bring your family for a walk-along of the Easter story and a reading of "Twas the Morning of Easter." There will also be a petting zoo. Check here for more details.

5. Hope Church's Springle Jam
What: Bring the family for games, crafts, snacks, a petting zoo and the Easter Story.
When: Saturday, April 1 from 10am-noon or from 2pm-4pm

6. Lowe's Build a Bunny Planter
What: Bring the kids to your local Lowe's for the free, kids DIY workshop. Children will make Bunny Planter with real tools. While Lowe's team members will be present to lead and direct, if you've got younger kiddos, parents will need to help out too.
When: Saturday, April 1 from 10am-1pm and walk-ins starting at 1:00pm, the day of the workshop.

7. River Road United Methodist Church's Easter Egg Hunt
What: Bring the family for a community Easter Egg Hunt.
When: Saturday, April 1 from 10-noon

8. Derbyshire Baptist Church's Easter Egg Hunt
What: Bring the family to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt, petting zoo and pizza immediately following worship service. Check here for more details on Derbyshire's Easter Egg Hunt event.

9. Second Baptist Church's Community Easter Egg Hunt
What: Bring the family for egg hunts by age and grade, food and fun!
When: Saturday, April 8 from 10am-noon

10. West End Farmer's Market Easter Egg Hunt
What: The West End Farmer's Market will host a free, community Easter Egg Hunt during the market. Check here for more details on The West End Farmer's Market.

Where: Discovery Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Road
11. Hardywood's Bunny Hop 2023
What: Bring the family out to enjoy Teeny Tiny Petting Zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, train rides, and listen to live music. Food will be available for purchase all day from local RVA food trucks.
When: Saturday, April 8 from noon to 6pm

12. Discovery Methodist's Easter Service
What: Easter service followed by a petting zoo
When: Sunday, April 9 from 10am-1pm
Where: Discovery Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Road
13. Lowe's SpringFest Egg-Venture
What: Bring the family to your closest Richmond-area Lowe's location for Easter-themed activities including an Easter egg hunt, treats, giveaways and photo opportunities.
When: Saturday, April 8 from 10am-1pm

14. Easter on Parade
What: Wear your Easter hat and watch the Easter parade on Monument for the first time in 3 years! You can enjoy live music, face painting, arts & crafts, a kid's entertainment zone plus food and retail vendors. This is a pet-friendly event too!
When: Sunday, April 9 from 1pm-5pm
Where: Monument Ave, and stages will be on North Allen and North Davis Avenues

Ticketed Easter Events for Families around Richmond:
The following events require a ticket and advanced registration.
1. The Red Barn Farm's Easter Bunny & Egg Hunt
What: Join The Red Barn Farm for it's annual Easter events and meet and greet with the farm animals. Egg hunts will be at 10am-10:30am, 11-11:30am, 12-12:30, 1-1:30pm, and 2-2:30pm
When: April 1, 2 and 8
Where: The Red Barn Farm,
Cost: No appointment is needed but it costs $8 per person, kids 2 & younger are free, feed bags are $3

2. Maymont Park's Family Easter
What: Bring the family out to celebrate Easter! There will be games, fun activities and hands-on crafts, live music on 3 different stages, and pictures with the Easter Bunny. RVA's local heroes will be in the Community Zone - firefighters, EMTs, utility workers, sports mascots & more!
When: Saturday, April 8 with two entry time (9am-12pm or 12pm-3pm)
Where: Maymont Park, 1700 Hampton Street
Cost: $5 per person, kids 2 and younger are free. Members & Museums for All participants get in free. Each admission ticket purchased includes 3 activity tickets.

3. Alvis Farm's Eggstravaganza
What: The 2nd annual Eggstravaganza will have egg hunts by age (3 separate groups), educational stations and vendors for kids to learn about animals and insects, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
When: Saturday, April 1 from 10am-1pm, egg hunt starts at noon
Where: Alvis Farms
Cost: $10 per person, kids 3 and under are free

4. Short Pump Mall's Pictures with the Easter Bunny:
What: Take pictures with the Easter Bunny in Pal's Clubhouse
When: now through April 8
Where: Short Pump Mall, 11800 West Broad Street
Cost: pay per picture, reservations encouraged
5. Shoofly Farm's opening day
What: Bring the family to enjoy opening day at Shoofly Farm! It's the first free farm visit day of the year, and kids can also participate in the Easter Egg Hunt ($5 per kiddo). The 1 acre pond will also be open for fishing (catch and release only).
When: Saturday, April 1 from 10am-2pm

6. Carter Mountain's Eggstravaganza
What: Bring the family to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, craft stations, hayrides, Easter Bunny photo ops, face painting, food trucks & live music. For more information on the event, check here.
When: Saturday, April 1 and Saturday, April 8 from 10am-5pm (on 2 Saturdays)
Where: Carter Mountain, 1435 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville

7. Chiles Peach Orchard's Hop Into Spring
What: Bring the family to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, an Easter egg roll, and Easter potato painting (a twist on egg decorating). There will also be live music, food, and a petting zoo. This event is geared towards children ages 2-10 years old.
When: Saturday, April 8 from 10am-5pm

8. Historic Greenbrier Farms's Easter Egg Hunt
What: Bring your family to celebrate Easter on the farm! Children can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt (bring your own basket), visit with the Easter Bunny, take farm tour hayrides, visiting with barnyard animals and bunnies, play in the bounce house and more!
When: Saturday, April 8 from 9am-4pm
Where: Historic Greenbrier Farms, 225 Sign Pine Road, Chesapeake
Cost: $35 per child
